Well now is the perfect opportunity, with Warrnambool junior basketballers getting the chance to ask an NBL and NBA star questions as part of a Zoom session next week.
South East Melbourne Phoenix small forward Mitch Creek, who has also played in the NBA with the Brooklyn Nets and Minnesota Timberwolves, is the guest of a limited Q&A session next Friday, May 15 with some of the association's members.
Junior development officer Michael McGorm said there was limited space in the Zoom call but any question could be submitted and then directed to Creek.
McGorm's connections with Knox Basketball and the strong relationship the association has with the Phoenix helped secure some of the star NBL and Australian Boomers player's time.
The association was hopeful the Phoenix would be in town around this time for a community camp but due to the coronavirus pandemic different plans had to be created.

McGorm said he reached out to the Phoenix to see if they would add to the association's social media activity during isolation.
"We have been doing videos to keep our members engaged over this time and we initially spoke to them about them sending a video message but they said 'why don't we get a Zoom meeting with some of the kids?'" he said.
"The player they picked was Mitch and he is more than willing to give up his time. He is a star NBL player, Australian basketball representative, former NBA player and a top fella."
McGorm said the questions could be about anything, not just basketball.
"We have put it to members to submit questions and they can think outside the box if they want to," he said.
"They then have a chance to get on and chat to a basketballer - not just about basketball but about anything.
"I'm sure he will show his basketball expertise and will respond to the curvy ones we throw his way."
Questions are to emailed to mmgorm@gmail.com by Monday, May 11 at 9pm and a formal Zoom invitation will be forwarded to those who have their questions selected by the Phoenix.
The Zoom chat will be recorded and shared on the association's social media after the meeting.
