The six-year-old was the first Warrnambool-trained winner of this year's carnival and also secured father Bill and son Symon their 30th combined victory at the famous annual jumps meeting.
"That's gold. We do have a lot of runners and we do target it and I didn't know that (we had secured the 30th win)," Symon said after the runner's eight-length victory over Speedy Jax and Markwood. "We only bought this horse at the start of this season. Dave Meade found him and we think he is going to make the grade and he may even be a (Brierly Steeplechase) horse next year.
"I couldn't have been happy with his school last week. He was a little bit green around the paddock but he has come on from that like we thought he would and that was really thrilling."
Wilde praised jockey Clayton Douglas for guiding the gelding
"I'm always happy to have Clayton. He is a terrific rider on the flat or over the jumps," he said.
Wilde, who bought him for $40,000, part owns the horse with a number of local connections including Terang Two Bob and his assistant trainer Liam Hoy.
"They (the owners) are local people and they love jumps racing," he said.
"We want to support jumps racing and this is our way of doing it - buying a horse and competing in these races. When you're lucky enough to get one that can win like that - fantastic."
