The pair played juniors and the early part of their senior careers at Port Fairy but felt it was time for a change.
Pierce, 16, who also plays with Victorian Netball League outfit Geelong Cougars, said she wanted a change of scenery.
"For me, I was looking for a change in terms of coaching approach and culture," she said.
"I was also wanting more attacking-based direction given midcourt/attack is where I see my strengths to be.
"I'm really excited Ash also made the move as we have a strong connection on court.
"I guess I've been open to changing teams over the last year due to needing to keep developing my game in WA/C as this is where VNL identify me fitting best."

For Evans, 17, she was looking to put more time into study and less on traveling.
"I really enjoyed my time at Port Fairy but I had to prioritise my education, the travel to Port Fairy was getting a bit challenging as I was losing study time going into VCE," she said.
"Also I wanted to play with basketball friends at Warrnambool for my last year of juniors."
The Emmanuel College student said was excited about a number of opportunities presented by the move.
"Playing with close friends, also having the opportunity to play at high levels," she said.
"I am excited to play with a new bunch of highly experienced players especially Amy Wormald, who I have already learnt so much from in pre-season."
Pierce is also eager to play alongside Wormald and co-captain Sarah Cowling.
"Both are amazing netballers who have been encouraging and mentoring me at training so far," she said.
"It feels like a fun group of girls and there are lots of familiar faces as well. Having fun is something I want more from my local netball.
"I'm excited to be coached by Rae (Raewyn Poumako). I got to know Rae well when she coached our Western Region squad last year and I liked her approach, she's a great communicator."
