Smith, who has stables in Warrnambool and Perth, saddles up Anjana in a fillies and mares race while stablemates Wheal Leisure, Reykjavik and New Tipperary also run on the nine-race Easter Saturday program.
The lightly-raced Anjana let her supporters down last time with a poor run in Sydney but Smith told The Standard there was a genuine reason for her defeat in the $160,000 race.
"The track at Rosehill was leader-biased. I just want to forget Anjana ran in the race," he said. "She was just out the back and the pattern of racing never suited her. She's come back to Warrnambool and worked well since the Rosehill run. She's dropping in class at Caulfield and if there's a bit of give in the track she should run well."

Talented galloper Reykjavik resumes in a $100,000 race over 1200 metres for Smith and the veteran trainer said he is worried about five-year-old having to carry 60kg.
"I think Reykjavik may need this run," he said. "He's a nice horse. I've got a winter program in mind for him."
Meanwhile, Ciaron Maher, who trains in partnership with David Eustace has three runners in the $1.15 million Sydney Cup to be run at Randwick on Saturday. The powerful stable will be represented by Azuro, Yogi and Etha James in the group one race.
