The 25-year-old, who crossed to the Harbour City-based club from Brisbane in the summer trade period, collected nine disposals on debut as the Swans notched a three-point win over Adelaide on Saturday.
Taylor, recruited for his outside running nous, suited up on the half forward flank. He failed to make an impact on the scoreboard, slotting one behind from one scoring shot. His pressure, however, was valuable. Taylor clunked four tackles.
A host of other south-west exports - including Fremantle's Sean Darcy, Essendon's Zach Merrett and North Melbourne's Ben Cunnington, were also effective.
Darcy recorded 21 hitouts and six disposals as the Dockers fell narrowly to Essendon, while Merrett gathered 22 disposals, four marks and three tackles in the six-point victory.
Cunnington, meanwhile, grabbed a game-high 25 disposals and booted two majors as the Kangaroos defeated St Kilda.
