In Victoria, the ban on gatherings of more than 500 people extends until midnight on 13 April 2020, the state government has confirmed.
Some events postponed or cancelled around the south-west include:
- The Disability Resource Centre has postponed an accessible trains advocacy workshop planned at Warrnambool's Archie Graham Centre for Wednesday March 18.
- Corangamite Shire's opening of a public art installation at the Lismore Water Tower planned for Wednesday March 18 has been postponed.
- Koroit and District Primary School Easter Fair, planned for Friday March 20, has been postponed.
- Port Fairy's Repair Cafe has been cancelled for this month.
- Mortlake Let's Talk Music Festival, planned for Saturday March 21, has been postponed.
- The Western Victoria Holden Car Club has postponed its Show 'n' Shine event planned for Warrnambool's Lake Pertobe on Saturday March 21.
- Dennington's St John's Primary School's 100 years celebration day, planned for Sunday March 22, is postponed.
- Ladies of the Bay performance at Mozart Hall has been postponed.
- Budj Bim Tours has suspended tours until further notice.
- Warrnambool Model Aircraft Club's annual fun fly scheduled for March 21 and 22 has been cancelled.
- Sunday's Walking Off The War Within to raise awareness for mental health has been postponed.
- The Warrnambool Sunday Undercover Market will be closed until further notice.
- St Joseph's Primary School's Annual Fair has been postponed.
- Charlie Landsborough's Tuesday, March 24 performance at the Warrnambool Memorial Bowls Club has been cancelled.
- The Warrnambool and District Dance Club has suspended dancing until further notice.
- The Zero Waste Forum has been cancelled however a DVD is planned to educate councils and the public on the best way to plan for reduction and treatment of waste resources. Professor Paul Connett's book "The Zero Waste Solution: Un-trashing the Planet One Community at a Time" is available to read about the subject.
- WestVic Dairy has postponed all upcoming events including the Great South West Dairy Awards Gala evening, which was due to take place on Wednesday, March 25.
- All parkrun events across Australia have closed with organisers expecting this to last until April.
- Warrnambool U3A has suspended all group activities and events until the end of the month when they will reassess.
- Flagstaff Hill's Day on the Hill scheduled for April 12 has been cancelled.
- All go karting events including; Karting Victoria Club Days, the Victorian Country Series for Karting, Pro Tour and the Austrailian Kart Championship have been cancelled.
- Terang's Badminton pennant has been cancelled.
- NAIDOC Week has been postponed.
- Learn to swim classes at Aquazone have been cancelled. The cancellation, to help stop the spread of COVID-19, will take effect from Saturday March 21 and remain in place until further notice
