The 17-year-old is part of the Australian junior women's development program and could be selected to tour China, Hawaii or the Philippines this year.
She was in the program last year and was selected to tour Thailand, an experience which included playing in the under 21 Thailand National Volleyball Championships.
The youngster was picked for that 24-player squad after attending a training camp with national coaches.
Lougheed will attend the 2020 edition of that camp in April at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra.
"Hopefully, I'll make another international team from that," she said.
The Emmanuel College Year 12 student is looking forward to spending half a week at the AIS.
"We get to train and use all its facilities," she said.

Lougheed, who has played volleyball since she was 12, gained plenty from her experience in Thailand.
"It was great exposure to international volleyball and a very different style of play," she said.
The teenager added she had been able to bring some of her experiences back to her team in Warrnambool.
The young gun has developed aspects of her game.
"I've definitely improved my passing and attacking," she said.
Lougheed is the South West Pirates women's division two captain at the Seaside Tournament this long-weekend.
It's the youngster's third tournament leading the team and she's enjoying the challenge.
"We're definitely improving with each game we play and each tournament," she said.
The South West Pirates women's side fell two sets to one in its first encounter of the tournament.
Lougheed also has her sights set on the country championships in June in Gippsland.
"It's usually the pinnacle of our volleyball year and we always aim to do very well in that," she said.
Lougheed said the tour to China may not happen due to the coronavirus.
