Its division one team, playing in its first Western District Bowls Division finals series in nine seasons, is one win away from a grand final berth.
Timboon Gold will meet reigning premier City Memorial Red in the preliminary final at Terang after knocking out Mortlake Blue 72-46 in the elimination final on Saturday.
President Peter Baker said it was "a big achievement".
"When we started at the start of the year, we were thinking to make finals would be great," he said.
"And to get a finals win under our belt and have a chance at another one, we are very happy."
Baker said Timboon Gold would take confidence in against City Red.
"We've played them once this year and I reckon we went down by 20 shots," he said.
"We played them early in the season and were a little bit rusty. Now we're playing good bowls."
Warrnambool Gold's one-year grand final hiatus is over with the competition powerhouse accounting for City Memorial Red 72-60 to advance to the decider. Skipper Paul O'Donnell said it was a relief to restore order.
"Last year was the first time in 26 years we hadn't been in the grand final," he said.
"It probably drove us on a little bit to get back there."
Warrnambool Gold won all three rinks against City Red.
"Our rink could've played better even though we won," O'Donnell said. "We've got improvement left in us."
