There was another win for the Western District in the women's over 60s state pairs, with Pauline Burleigh and Moria Cooknell winning the final 22-8 against Eva Hay and Glenda Gourley (Corangamite). PENNANT
What a last round it was in Saturday division one pennant. Third-placed City Gold and fourth-placed Koroit Blue both lost and were replaced in the top four by Mortlake and Timboon. The change to a three-rink competition has clearly evened up the comp.
Division one finals are all being played at Terang, with Warrnambool Gold versus City Red having the double chance and Timboon Gold and Mortlake in the knockout final. All teams have been evenly matched throughout the season. It may all go down to the fall of the cards and which rinks are matched up.
Midweek pennant prelim finals next week: Division one: Warrnambool Gold vs City Gold at Dennington; division two: Warrnambool Blue vs Lawn Tennis Blue at City; division three: Terang Red vs City Yellow (Dennington). Timboon has won its way through to the division one grand final, Port Fairy Green in division two and Port Fairy Red in division three.
