Blue, sitting eighth on 56 points, went down 70-53 shots to division one top-team Warrnambool Gold at Warrnambool Bowls Club on Tuesday.
Blue third George Draffen hasn't given up on the finals dream.
"We've had a pretty fair pennant, we've just dropped off a bit the last few weeks," he said.
"There were a couple of games we could have won that we haven't."
Blue fell 86-66 to City Memorial Green and 83-66 to City Memorial Gold in recent weeks.
It has three games left to get in the top four for finals.

Draffen said the club was pleased with how its teams were progressing.
"Overall the club is in a good position, we're quite happy, teams are bowling well," he said.
"The competition is good, sometimes you win and sometimes you don't."
The Mortlake stalwart, who has been playing bowls for 20 years, has contributed significantly to the administrative side of the club.
He's been president, treasurer and also club champion numerous times.
Draffen decided to step back from club duties this year.
"I thought it was time to have a break and let fresh blood through," he said.
"I've been on the board for probably seven or eight years as president and treasurer."
He is now contributing to the competition as vice chairman of the association.
Draffen's Saturday division one pennant side is also in the hunt for finals.
Mortlake is sixth with five wins and five losses.
Draffen, who is skipper on Saturdays, said the group needs to charge to finals.
"We're still mathematically a chance, we're only a few points out of the finals," he said.
In other midweek pennant results, finals-contender Koroit Orange defeated Lawn Tennis Green 87-64 while Dennington Dolphins won a tight 78-71 encounter with Port Fairy Gold.
Warrnambool Gold is the dominant side of the competition with 10 wins and one loss.
City Memorial Green and the Dennington Dolphins are both a chance to sneak into the division one pennant finals.
