The former division one co-skipper is eager to get back in the division one side this Saturday to play a two-dayer against Nestles at Reid Oval.
Wilkie hit 143 not out against Koroit in division three on the weekend after holidays in South Australia ruled him out of the division one two-dayer against Allansford.
He admitted he was "rusty" in his big innings after recently returning to cricket from his third ankle surgery.
Wilkie, who has played in premiership teams, said the Pirates had been focused on developing youngsters in the past few years.

He said there had been a drop off in performances with some of the club's veterans retiring.
Wilkie said Max Green and Sam Allen were among the talents coming through the ranks.
Green, a wicket-keeper/batsman, scored 40 not out against Nestles in the under 17 boys twenty20 final on Sunday.
The under 17 captain also plays division one for the Pirates.
Allen was a standout in the Port Fairy's division three success on Saturday with 3-9 bowling leg spin.
He was also captain of the successful under 13 Warrnambool Gold team that claimed the Portland country week title.
The division three side had special guest Craig Dodson play for it on Saturday.
He is playing cricket matches around Australia and raising money for Gotcha4Life, a non-profit foundation raising awareness about mental health.
He raised more than $600 from a raffle and profits from the bar on Saturday.
