The 27-year-old, now based in Brisbane, picked up a bronze in the 18 and over 50 metre backstroke and silvers in the open male 4x100m medley and 17 and over male 4x50m medley.

Logan had the same teammates - older brother Matthew Logan, Jack Paulka and Sebastian Christie-Crane - in both relays at Warrnambool Aquazone.

The swimmer was thrilled with the results given the standard of competition.

"It's quite tough at the moment because the age group I've been competing in is very, very solid," he said.

"There are many swimmers clocking very impressive times, it's kind of hard to crack your way into the finals.

"Even harder again to get into those medal placings as well."

Logan was pleased to enjoy team success in the relays.

"There's a bit more camaraderie and that's when swimmers tend to swim their best times," he said.

He heaped praise on the supportive WSC which he said was "easily the loudest of any club that participates at these events".

Logan, who moved to Brisbane a year ago, grew up in Warrnambool and has competed in about 10 country championships.

His cousin Layla McCarthy is also competing for WSC.

Meanwhile, there is perhaps none more committed to the sport than WSC youngster Sophie Gleeson.

For the past six or seven years, Sophie and her dedicated parents have been making trips to Warrnambool from Brucknell and Cooriemungle (50 minutes away) for training.

The 15-year-old trains five times a week and also completes two gym sessions.

She said she kept at swimming because "it's a great sport and the coaches are very motivating".

The Gleeson family moved to Warrnambool a month ago which has been convenient for Sophie.

"It's so good, it's 10 minutes to training compared to 50 minutes," she said.

Sophie, who is grateful for her parents support, is working towards the short course country championships which are in August this year.

She has her sights set on competing in breaststroke and a 100m individual medley.

Sophie swam in the girls 14-15 100m breaststroke on Friday.

WSC's other medals have come from captain Sophie Thomas with silver in the open 400m freestyle and open 200m butterfly.

Christie-Crane with silver in the 18 and over 50m backstroke.

And Jude De Silva-Smith finished with a bronze in the 11 and under boys 50m backstroke.
