Factory is fifth - with six wins, two draws and six losses - and a chance to sneak into the two-day finals.
Williams quickly adjusted from twenty20 cricket to the two-day format on Saturday at Reid Oval.
The Factory skipper worked hard for his 77 from 189 balls against a Wesley CBC outfit that bowled "really well early".
He built partnerships with top-order batsmen Jacob Hetherington (57) and Caleb Bidmade (24) on his way to his second-highest knock this season.
While Williams enjoys two-day cricket, he is happy to play any format.
"Cricket is cricket to me, I just like making runs," he said.

He took a patient approach to his innings, hitting just three boundaries on a slow outfield.
"It's the Reid Oval, so it's hard to score them (boundaries)," he said.
"You've got to wait for your opportunity."
The captain was otherwise impressed with his side's 8/261.
"Absolutely, it's been a while since we've made 200 to be honest so we're pretty happy with what we've done today," he said.
Williams said his bowlers would need to get on top early next weekend on what is a good batting pitch.
Allansford's Chris Bant complied the biggest innings of the weekend with 155 against bottom-ranked Port Fairy.
Brierly-Christ Church's Jason Greer had impressive figures with 6-53 against Merrivale.
West Warrnambool leader Alastair Templeton hit 59 as the Panthers posted 5/177 against Russells Creek.
Creek's Matt Petherick finished with 3-38.
