A convoy of trucks will leave Eddie White's yard in Allansford on Saturday morning to deliver around 1000 round bales of hay to fire areas in Gippsland.
Hay run organiser Eddie White said it was important to help out farmers who were doing it tough.
"I was initially going to send hay to New South Wales, to Taree, but it became apparent we were better off helping farmers closer to home," Mr White said.
"A lot of the farmers who donated the hay were asking for it to stay in Victoria.
"At this stage we have 35 trucks going, and we might have a few more join in before we leave.
"This has been a good season in the south-west and farmers have lots of feed. It is amazing how generous they have been giving their extra hay to those in need."
Moyne Shire mayor Daniel Meade donated his excess hay bales to the relief effort.
"It's amazing what Eddie has done," he said.
"Most of the hay is coming from the Moyne Shire and we couldn't be prouder of the effort of farmers in our region."
