The eventual winners were Neil Crisp (City) and Sheridan Barling (Dennington). They will now represent the division and contest the regional title at Portland RSL on Sunday, February 2.
This Sunday at Timboon the division mixed pairs will get under way with 25 teams taking part.
In clubland
Port Fairy's Nick Seekamp has won his third club singles championship in a row. He defeated Steven Gibb 25 shots to 17.
Better luck for the Gibb family in the women's singles with Pam winning her second title after defeating Jill Oswin also 25 to 17.
City recently concluded its corporate cup which attracted a capacity field of 240 players over a six-week program.
The new Dome ensured they played through the entire six weeks without any inclement weather stoppages.
The eventual winner was The Silver Fox Café. City is now planning on running a summer night series for new bowlers. Contact Bryan Sheehan at the club for more info on this event.
Warrnambool is down to the last eight in its men's singles championship. There was a delay this week in getting more games played due to the greens installers returning to put more sand into one of the new greens.
This should make it very interesting for pennant on Saturday with the surface potentially running a little slower.
Pennant
It's the last round of pennant for the year - hasn't it flown.
Midweek division one will see a top-of-the-table clash with Warrnambool Gold hosting second-placed Koroit Orange and Mortlake Blue facing off against Timboon Maroon for a spot in the four.
Due to the evenness of the competition in weekend pennant division one, sides can't afford to let any game slip as there are up to six teams which could take a spot in the top four leading into the break.
The games to watch on Saturday should be Warrnambool Gold at home to Mortlake Blue and Timboon Gold hosting City Red.
Mortlake will be keen on a win to consolidate its spot in the top four and Timboon is looking to push into the four from its current fifth position.
There is still some bowls on over the Christmas period so keep your eye out for club social bowls and competitions.
Have a safe break and enjoy the start of a new year.
