A Hamilton man has been remanded in custody and charged with theft.

Hamilton police First Constable Alex Chaffer said the 41-year-old had been charged in relation to a break-in at a Ballarat Road home on November 29.
"He was identified fleeing the scene and has been evading police for about five days," First Constable Chaffer said.
The man has been charged with burglary and theft, committing indictable offences while on bail and breaching bail conditions.
He is expected to appear in Hamilton Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
