The owner of Mac's Hotel in Mortlake explained the Australian Hotels Association (AHA) had regular networking sessions called Pubs, Pots, and Profits.
These events help support regional pubs with information and bring similar businesses together.
"I attended two of the Pubs, Pots, and Profits sessions during the year, one in Hamilton and the other in Colac," Mrs Beck said.
"Carlton and United Brewing (CUB) is a major supporter of AHA and run a 'Perfect Pour' competition at each session."
Mrs Beck won the Perfect Pour at the Hamilton event and qualified for the grand final at the CUB Christmas party at the Carlton Brewery on November 27.
The iconic amber drop company has a strict set of rules and a tough criteria to follow which judged the six contestants on not only their pouring abilities but their customer service interactions.
After her nail-biting turn, Mrs Beck was thrilled to take out the competition.
"It's exciting to know I won, I'm very proud," she said.
"There are several criteria they are looking for and obviously we, as publicans and bartenders, get plenty of practice. But the situation is obviously a little different when you are being judged."
As a prize, CUB will contribute $5000 in products and merchandise to Mac's Hotel to go towards a summer party at the Mortlake pub.
Mrs Beck's spent all her life in hospitality and hopes the summer party can align with her 50th birthday celebrations in March.
