Suffoir Winery owner Michelle Badenhorst said the organising committee had been working with the local council to ensure the festival had plans in place to mitigate the risk.
"We have submitted a planning permit and had a good meeting with the council and everyone involved with decisions around fire ban days and they seemed very supportive," she said.
"We are happy to be working with them when it comes to the decision about the event going ahead.
"In the coming years we will be able to work with them instead of just cancelling the show."
Australian music legend Russell Morris will headline the 2020 festival, performing his evergreen hits, including 'The Real Thing', alongside his recent award-winning blues material. "We were very excited to be able to book him in," Mrs Badenhorst said. "We try and get a bit of a range (of music), we don't just go for one genre, and we also want the day to build up across the day and end with a bang."
"The Music in the Vines event is a very big thing for Macarthur and it has a nice traction happening going into the fifth year.
"There are a lot of benefits for the community and there is a lot of support for the festival."
Mrs Badenhorst said the festival was designed to be comfortable and family-friendly.
"People find every bit of shade, and then move out to listen to the music," she said.
"We are making an effort to put up more umbrellas and marquees to make people feel comfortable in the shade."
Other acts performing at the festival include Melbourne pop/folk singer Woody Pitney, celtic duo The BordererS, south-west singer/songwriter Tanya George, Warrnambool acoustic guitar player Cooper Lower, Melbourne singer songwriter Maria Jayne and 2018 Emerging Talent winner Flynn Gurry.
Music in the Vines is on at Suffoir Winery, Brewery and Cidery on Saturday, February 29. Tickets are available from the winery and selected locations in Macarthur.
