Port Fairy Golf Links operations manager Stephen Demartin says his club will definitely see a boost in visitors after its 14th hole was voted the best 14th in Australia.

The scenic hole made Inside Golf magazine's 'Dream 18', a fantasy course that includes the nation's best 18 holes.
The prominent magazine's poll received more than 20,000 votes and Port Fairy's 14th was nominated by an anonymous source.
"A lot of our members and visitors just get up on that 14th tee and think 'wow, what a view', Demartin said.
"Being so close to the ocean is fantastic."

The coastal hole also poses a serious challenge for golfers.
"A lot of people don't realise how difficult that hole is as well," Demartin said.
"There's a bit of a trick involved in relation to playing the 14th, it's ranked as the hardest hole on our golf course."
One of the tricks is that golfers can't see the hole from the tee.
"You're totally blind when you tee to the pin," Demartin said.
"A lot of people think 'well where am I going to aim and where am I about to land the ball'."
Demartin said it was a great honour for the club to be recognised for its 408 metre, par four hole.
He added the course had impressed Irish and Scottish visitors of late.
"We find that even people from Scotland and Ireland - who are in Australia visiting and doing the Great Ocean Road - they've been told about the Port Fairy Golf Links and how much it reminds of Ireland," he said.
Demartin said the 14th hole was part of the original course.
"It was probably built in the late 1970s and by Rex Newman and Rex Grady, a couple of our members," he said.
Demartin said Grady is now one of the club's life members.
"He was part of the gang that actually weren't scared to get on a tractor or mower and start laying out the fairways," he said.
Demartin also credited Kevin Hartley and Michael Clayton who had crucial roles in the design of Port Fairy Golf Links.
Hundreds of visitors will get the chance to tee off on the 14th hole this Saturday at the annual Shipwreck Coast Golf Classic.
