He was quiet, but would do anything for his family and friends.

Blake, 19, died in a quad bike accident near his uncle's farm at Leitchville in northern Victoria on Friday night.

His mother Vanessa said she was truly blessed to have had a son as loving and caring as Blake.

"We were so blessed to have him," Mrs Stormer said.

"He was so kind and so gentle.

"He was always so happy - a loveable larrikin."

Mrs Stormer said Blake loved the outdoors, in particular four-wheel-driving.

He loved motorsports and attended Bathurst each year with his dad Marc, who was one of his best mates, every year.

Blake loved spending time with family, including his older sister Jemma and would return home to Port Fairy every chance he got while studying mining engineering in Ballarat at Fed Uni.

He was a talented sportsman and excelled in a number of areas.

Blake attended Brauer College and loved to play football and made a number of Warrnambool Junior Basketball representative sides.

His former basketball coach Chris Toone said Blake was a welcome addition to any team.

"He was the best defensive player I ever coached," Mr Toone said.

"He was amazing. He could read the ball and the play so well. A defensive machine, I would call him."

Mr Toone said Blake was incredibly loyal and would do anything for his teammates.

Warrnambool Junior Basketball chairman Wayne Hinkley said Blake's death had sent shockwaves through the district's basketball community.

"We would like to express our deepest sympathy to Blake's family," Mr Hinkley said.

Hundreds of people have reached out to Blake's family to express their sadness at his passing.

Mrs Stormer said she would be eternally grateful for the kind words.

"I can't thank them all enough," she said.

"It means so much to us."
