The 37-year-old is centering his schedule around Premier Speedway this summer as work and his two children take focus.
But Mollenoyux, nominated for the Sprintcar Association of Victoria series round on Saturday, is determined to make his limited time behind the wheel count.
"We'll run a really limited schedule this year. We're just concentrating on Warrnambool," he told The Standard.
"You won't see much of our car unless you're watching at Premier (Speedway).

"I haven't put too much thought into (racing this weekend). I've been busy down at the BMX track with the kids and I'm fortunate I have good support around me."
Mollenoyux said crew members Simon Van Ginneken and Chris Heard had produced a strong car leading into the team's season-opener.
"The car is the same as I raced last year," he said.
"It's a reasonably fresh motor in that it's only had four or five nights of racing.
"I'm always confident in our equipment. We'll see which way (results) roll but we're feeling good with the car."
The Warrnambool-based driver is one of 12 south-west-based racers pursuing victory on Saturday night.
Former South West Conveyancing Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic winners Jamie Veal, James McFadden and Corey McCullagh headline a 53-strong field.
Mollenoyux said opening his season at Premier Speedway was exciting.
