Jordan Frost, 21, of Mack Street, pleaded guilty in Warrnambool Magistrates Court to burglary, theft and drug offences.

Magistrate Franz Holzer said he was disappointed to see Frost again after he sentenced him to a community corrections order for unrelated offending at the start of the year.

The magistrate said the new offending was serious and the 101 days he had spent in custody on remand was not enough.

Frost was sentenced to seven months' jail. A family member seated in the body of the court burst into tears when the sentence was announced.

In May, Frost entered a Warrnambool property without permission on two occasions and stole clothes, including a pair of adult Nike shorts and children's clothing, from a washing basket in the laundry.

He was identified though CCTV footage, arrested and interviewed by police.

Frost told police he took the clothing and sold it to friends at half the retail price in order to fund his drug habit.

Then on June 21 Frost jemmied open the front door to JQ Skating on Warrnambool's Fairy Street. He forced open a money tin, and rummaged through cabinets and drawers before stealing a number of items, including a medium sized camouflage-coloured jumper worth $99.95.

He then went to his girlfriend's house and gave her the camouflage jumper.

But the pair began to argue, he became angry and demanded she return the jumper. She refused.

Frost grabbed the jumper and tore it down the front. He then began kicking the victim to the arm before pushing her against a wall and punching her to the head.

Police attended but Frost had fled the property.

He was later intercepted riding a bike on Warrnambool's Crawley Street and found in possession of 0.4 grams of ice.

At the time of the offending, he was on bail for stealing a $500 trailer, which was never recovered.
