It's a great fundraiser for the club but it is always a wonderful chance for people to get a close-up look at some beautiful Port Fairy gardens.

The occasion will be the annual Port Fairy Rotary Club Open Garden Day, which will take place on Sunday from 10am to 4pm.
Addresses of gardens included on the route are 14 Martin Laurence Place, 87 Bank Street, 42 James Street and 152 Model Lane.
Admission is $20, which includes all four gardens and refreshments at 42 James Street. Port Fairy Rotary Club member Margaret Whitehead said the open garden day was always a successful one.
"Last year was very successful, we raised $7000," she said.
"This was used to purchase a piano for the residents of Moyneyana House.
"This year the money we raise will also go to a local community project.
"It's a great fundraiser for the club but it is always a wonderful chance for people to get a close-up look at some beautiful Port Fairy gardens.
"We are very lucky to have four gardens of such quality open to the public.
"The Rotary Club works very hard and to have access to these properties for fundraisers is a real bonus."
Garden snapshots.
14 Martin Laurence Place: A small, no-fuss, easy-care cottage garden with hardy plants which is driven by the owners' mantra of mulch, mulch, mulch! The garden belongs to Rachel and Gerard Thomas.
87 Bank Street: A garden which includes fruit, vegetables and lots of colour, provided by sweet peas, pansies and petunias. After living in Perth for 34 years, a different climate has proved an intriguing challenge for the owners. The garden belongs to Lyn and Allan Brown.
42 James Street: The house and garden at this property go very much hand-in hand, with the garden designed to have structure to match the classic lines of the old house. The garden belongs to Margaret and Franco Cavalieri.
152 Model Lane: A low-maintenance garden which can be enjoyed all-year round. Chooks and ducks roam happily in this garden which began eight years ago and is continually evolving. The garden belongs to Rebecca and Andrew Sharp.
