Former Western Bulldogs boss Brendan McCartney will mentor Cobden's leaders - including senior coach Adam Courtney - in 2020.
McCartney, who left his post as assistant coach at Melbourne in August, is set to advise Cobden's full fleet of mentors.
His influence will stretch from junior to senior football grades.
I see him as playing a pretty massive role. I think he can help improve my professionalism and fill that mentor role that I didn't have this season.
- Adam Courtney
Courtney said the 58-year-old was itching to impart his wisdom on the Hampden league outfit.
"It's really exciting to have this tool at our disposal," Courtney said.
"We want to make sure the whole club has access to him. We have such a good junior program and we want the same philosophy right through."
Courtney expected McCartney's influence to boost his coaching nous.
"I see him as playing a pretty massive role. I think he can help improve my professionalism and fill that mentor role that I didn't have this season," he told The Standard.
"He's very easy to talk to and will tell me how to make sure I'm doing the right things to become the best I can be."
Courtney's off-season recruiting drive is in full swing.
The first-year Bomber has lured Louis Robertson back to Cobden and has his sights set on more targets in the next fortnight.
"We've been meeting with a lot of blokes and have been really busy going out there to promote the club," Courtney said.
"We've had a real culture shift - the netballers are flying - and we want to make sure our football follows."
