A drunk Portland man in his early 20s has been charged with assaulting an 85-year-old man at Dutton Way.

Portland police Acting Sergeant Jarrod Anderson said this morning a 22-year-old Portland man was arrested at 6pm on Tuesday evening after an incident.
The 85-year-old man was assaulted and suffered minor injuries.
An ambulance attended to assess and treat the victim.
The alleged offender was arrested, interviewed and charged with assault-related offending, being drunk and acting prejudicial to the good running of a police jail.
He was released on bail and will appear in the Portland Magistrates Court on April 14 next year.
