A CLOSE shave meant Warrnambool's Nathan Sobey failed to grab FIBA World Cup minutes in Australia's close victory over Senegal on Tuesday night.
The Boomers eventually pushed out to win by 13 points but were uncomfortable as Senegal pushed hard in the fourth quarter.
Sobey and fellow guard Cam Gliddon were the only Boomers left waiting in the wings, while forward David Barlow managed just 10 seconds.
Sobey, a former Warrnambool Seahawk, managed 55 seconds in the Boomers' 16-point trouncing of Canada on Sunday.
Senegal was a different team to the side that lost heavily to Lithuana on Sunday, forcing the star-studded Australian team to work hard until the final buzzer.
NBA-listed guard Joe Ingles flirted with his first-ever triple-double, notching 17 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists.
Sobey's Boomers face Lithuana on Thursday.
