The exciting Daniel Bowman-trained galloper ran sixth behind Scales Of Justice in the $1 million Memsie Stakes over 1400 metres.
"It was a big effort by Begood Toya Mother at his debut run in weight-for-age company," Bowman said.
"He's run against some top class horses and never let us down.
"He did all the hard work from the front and ended up less then three lengths from Scales Of Justice at the finish.
"The run should top him off for another group one race the Rupert Clarke Stakes on September 21."
Begood Toya Mother took his stake money to nearly $300,000 after he picked up $20,000 for running sixth in the Memsie.
The Warrnambool-based trainer purchased Begood Toya Mother for $28,000 as a yearling.
Begood Toya Mother was rated a $7 chance at 7.30am before drifting to $9 at 9.30am.
Begood Toya Mother resumed from a break a fortnight ago and has seven wins in 12 starts.
