Bowman told The Standard he will decide after a 1000-metre track gallop at Warrnambool on Tuesday morning if the lightly-raced Begood Toya Mother takes his place in the group one classic field.
Begood Toya Mother won his sixth consecutive race and took his winning tally to seven from 11 starts when he resumed with a strong win in the Regal Roller Stakes at Caulfield last Saturday.
"I'm seriously thinking of running him in the Memsie Stakes on Saturday," Bowman said.
"It all depends how he performs in the track gallop on Tuesday morning.
"He'll gallop with a stablemate on the course proper. He's pulled up a million dollars after his Regal Roller win.
"A start in the Memsie will be a big jump up in class but I'm confident he'll be competitive.
"I've got to give him a run this Saturday to have him ready for the Rupert Clarke Stakes in September.
"The two options this Saturday are the Memsie or a $125,000 open handicap over 1400 metres.
"He'll have a three-week break after the run this Saturday into the Rupert Clarke which will really suit him."
Bowman purchased Begood Toya Mother for $28,000 as a yearling and the five-year-old has now won more then $277,000 in stakemoney for his connections.
