The North Warrnambool Eagles coach must navigate a tricky final-round opponent to secure a top-three finish.

The Eagles sit third, two points clear of Warrnambool, entering round 18.

They play South Warrnambool - a team which has taken top-five scalps - at Bushfield Recreation Reserve on Saturday.

The Blues host Portland, which has one win from 17 matches, at Reid Oval.

Barr said the equation was simple.

"It makes it an easy equation - just win," she said.

"I have been keeping an eye on it (the ladder) and spoke to the girls three weeks ago that we needed to keep winning. If we drop the ball at any stage, we lose a second chance."

Barr said Camperdown loomed ominous in the elimination final after securing its spot in the finals last weekend.

"Everyone wants to finish second or third, especially when the competition is so close," she said.

"I don't think anyone wants to come up against Camperdown in an elimination final.

"They are the form side at the moment. Emma Wright back makes a huge difference."

North Warrnambool Eagles, which sits below Cobden and Koroit, was forced to battle for its win against South Warrnambool in round nine. Barr is anticipating a similar tussle.

"It was really close at three-quarter-time last time we played them," she said.

The Eagles had a debutant last weekend in teenage midcourter Laura Ritchie.

Barr said Ritchie was likely to sit on the bench against the Roosters.
