Kevin Knowles, 47, of Atkins Street, pleaded guilty in Warrnambool Magistrates Court to drug and driving offences.
He told the court he intended to contest the charges but magistrate Michael Coghlan said it would be difficult. He said he had seen Victoria Police's traffic safety enforcement devices at work and that any suspicions he may have had about them had evaporated.
Knowles entered guilty pleas to all of the charges. He was fined $2000 and his driver's license was cancelled for four years.
The court heard that on September 22, Knowles was clocked driving a black Holden utility at 70km/h on Warrnambool's Wanstead Street - a signed 50km/h speed zone.
Knowles sighted police and sped off at about 150km/h. Police followed the accused, who pulled over and exited and re-entered the vehicle before speeding off again.
At the time of the offending his licence was disqualified because he had accrued too many demerit points.
Then on October 5 police observed the same vehicle travelling on Warrnambool's Lachlan Street.
Knowles was identified by police and upon parking and exiting the vehicle, he was arrested and taken into custody. At the police station, officers located a small quantity of methamphetamine in his underwear.
Knowles refused to undergo a drug test, telling a police officer to "f*** off".
He also pleaded guilty to recklessly causing injury to a male victim on April 9 and breaching a court order on June 26.
