At around 10pm on Saturday night a 48-year-old Beaufort man tested positive to methamphetamine after being intercepted by police on Colac-Ballarat Road.
The keys to his Holden Commodore were taken by police and he will face Colac Magistrates' Court at a later date.
Later that same night a 26-year-old male from Winchelsea was pulled over on Murray Street in Colac just after midnight and also returned a positive result to methamphetamine.
He has been told by police not to drive his Ford sedan and will also front court at a later date.
Acting Sergeant Jamie Kahle of Colac police said 30 vehicles were intercepted in and around Colac on Saturday night.
"We are targeting licences, drugs and alcohol," he said.
"Out of 30 intercepts although you never want to get a positive result it's still disappointing to still detect people with drugs in their system given the publicity we have given around this issue.
"We've been pretty vocal about drug driving here at highway patrol."
Acting Sergeant Kahle said police are intercepting people at random as part of tough new measures to curb drug driving offences.
"You don't even have to look like you're doing something wrong, we are testing people at random," he said.
