There was a reduction in cattle supply of 235 to 804 head. Quality was again mixed, though there were some better finished beef cows and heavy weight bulls penned. Demand from the usual field of buyers was generally steady and prices for young cattle and bulls reflected this but manufacturing steers and cows averaged 10c to 12c/kg cheaper. Overall the C muscled grown steers and grown heifers only eased in prices. The yarding comprised of 148 grown steers, 143 young cattle and grown heifers, 463 cows and 50 bulls. Processors paid from 240c to 298c for C2 and C3 yearlings and restockers purchased replacements between 252c to 275c/kg. The D1 yearlings made 156c to 220c with the poor conditioned E1 grade from 110c/kg. The C3 grown steers made 302c to 340c, C4's from 320c to 339c and the leaner C2s sold between 260c and 306c/kg. Manufacturing D2 steers were from 265c to 278c and light conditioned D1 steers made 210c to 242c/kg. The odd C3 grown heifers were at 280c to 290c/kg. The good run of 3 and 4 score beef cows were from 260c to 290c.
