The street, in Warrnambool's Toohey Estate, was named after Monsignor Leo Fiscalini and the call to rename the street was first made by two south-west clergy abuse victims in mid-2018.
Monsignor Fiscalini was told by a victim she was being sexually abused in 1972 and he accused her of "telling lies" and left her in the care of her abuser.
The county court has since jailed her abuser.
The Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuses acknowledged Fiscalini and former Bishop of Ballarat Ronald Mulkearns knew of complaints relating to pedophile Gerald Ridsdale in the 1970s but permitted him to continue working in the region.
Another clergy abuse victim who has been pushing for the change said he had waited for a long time for the council to act.

"It's a long overdue change given Monsignor Fiscalini has been named in recent court proceedings," he said.
A city council spokesman told The Standard in April the renaming would be discussed at an upcoming council briefing, after one of the victims sent a letter to the council formally requesting the name change.
The spokesman confirmed on Tuesday it would be on the agenda at next Monday's meeting.
Councillor Peter Hulin has been vocal in his support for Fiscalini to be renamed.
"When you consider what the survivors have been through and the effect on their mental health, it's only appropriate it should be changed," he said.
"It's not uncommon for street names to be changed and it has happened in the past. The east end of Merri Street used to be Belmore Road."
