That's why Magpies coach Brooke Richardson wants her team to accelerate when it's in control of games.
The Pies scored a 10-goal win over Port Fairy on Saturday and sits in sixth spot, just outside the Hampden league netball top-five on percentage with four home and away games to play.
Richardson lamented a drop off.
"We had a really strong start and did take our foot off the pedal a little bit," she said.
"It was disappointing because it could come down to percentage, so it's something we have to work on."
Camperdown's 101.9 per cent is 2.24 per cent behind fifth-placed Terang Mortlake and 4.61 per cent behind seventh-ranked South Warrnambool, which is two points in arrears.
Camperdown made some positional changes against Port Fairy, using Jess Cameron in wing defence and centre and was rewarded.
"It's good to have a few things up our sleeves," Richardson said.
The Magpies travel to Melville Oval to play a night match against Hamilton Kangaroos next weekend.
The bottom-placed Kangaroos are coming off a confidence-boosting performance against Terang Mortlake which eked out a four-goal victory.
Lily Killey scored 43 goals as second-placed Koroit defeated a determined Portland 59-48.
