Police are investigating the theft of an electric fence unit at Crossley.

Koroit police Sergeant Pat Day said the unit worth $250 was removed from a fence at a Crossley property between 6pm on Wednesday, July 17 and the morning of Saturday, July 20.
He said the theft was one of the first to be reported to Koroit police through the new Police Assistance Line.
"We were notified straight away and made contact with the owner to start investigating," he said.

The Police Assistance Line takes reports and provides advice at any time on matters of a non-urgent nature, including property damage, lost or found property, theft and noise complaints.
Sergeant Day urged anyone with information regarding the theft of the electric fence unit to contact Koroit police station on 5565 8202 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
