There were feel-good moments in the Hampden league with family ties on show and big crowds showing their support - even in hostile territory.
The Warrnambool and District league welcomed some forward power back from injury and a battler scored its second win in a month, giving its coach reason to smile.
But injury also reared its head and could leave a Hampden league pace-setter without one of its prime movers in a top-three battle next week.
Both competitions are nearing the business end of the season - there's three home and away rounds remaining in the District league and five in the Hampden league.
