Injuries forced midfielder Andy Hargreaves (concussion) and forward Ben Newey (finger) out of the side this week.

Demons playing-coach Marcus Hickey said Newey failed to recover in time for selection while Hargreaves, who was runner-up in last year's league best and fairest, suffered delayed concussion.

"We took a no-risk approach for Andy and they both should return after the bye (next weekend)," he said.

Key defender Ewan Flanagan and promising junior Ben Mathews return for the eighth-placed Demons, who are looking to keep their finals hopes alive.
