Cattle numbers increased slightly, with some very good yearlings and grown heifers offered, liked by processors.
The entire regular buying group was present today, with bidding intensifying in the cow run, with all weights and grades resulting in a price lift. Feedlots and restockers were active again, operating in the yearling and grown categories.
Due to some excellent competition, buyers were operating in a firm to dearer market in places.
There were very few trade steers offered today, with the best making only 275c, easing 10c/kg from last week.
Some excellent quality trade heifers were offered, resulting in a price lift of 15c, receiving from 260c to 320c/kg.
Yearlings returning to feed were shared between the buyers, making from 238c to 264c and the restockers continued to go that extra mile, with prices reaching 298c, 4c/kg higher than last week. This week's offering of grown steers and bullocks was mixed with the better finished C4s making from 292c to 310c, as the steers and bullocks returned to feed, receiving from 250c and 280c/kg.
The regular offering of mixed quality cows received a price lift of 3c to 17c/kg across all weights and grades.
The good heavy 3 and 4 score cows suiting the export buyers sold from 220c to 252c, with one outstanding B muscled cow making 264c/kg.
The middle run of D2 cows received from 194c to 224c, with the light D muscled 1 score cows making from 160c to 194c/kg.
Few bulls were sold to the usual buying group, with the top bulls receiving from 213c to 226c/kg.

LANDMARK WOOL WEEKLY
For week ending June 21.
Only two centres, Sydney and Melbourne, operated last week with 19,072 bales on offer (9068 fewer bales than last week).
Despite the small offering, the market fell on the back of low buyer confidence.
Sharp price falls on Wednesday saw high pass-in rates with 20 per cent of Merino fleece lots and 17.2 per cent of Merino skirtings.
The market strengthened on Thursday, with mostly single digit falls and 6-7 per cent pass-in rates. The EMI lost 57 cents to 1,766 c/kg clean.
The national pass-in rate was 12.8 per cent. Next week all three selling centres will be open with 30,872 bales currently on offer for the final sale of the 2018-19 season.
Weak demand across the all microns saw price falls of between 43 and 52 cents in Sydney on Wednesday. As a consequence, 19.3 per cent of the 3848 bales on offer were passed in.
Demand strengthened somewhat on Thursday with falls of between 2 and 11 cents across the Merino MPGs which produced a lower pass-in rate (5.5 per cent). Merino skirtings also lost ground on Wednesday. Lower style types with unfavourable additional measurements and high VM were up to 80 cents cheaper. The skirtings market maintained this level on Thursday, except for lots with 3 per cent VM which were 10 to 20 cents dearer.
Finer crossbred lots lost between 60 and 80 cents on Wednesday with broader lots ( 28 m) losing 30 to 50 cents. Crossbred lots were unchanged on Thursday.
The Northern Regional Indicator finished the week at 1,789 c/kg clean down 57 cents. The Northern Merino Carding Indicator fell 12 cents to 985 c/kg clean.
The Sydney pass-in rate was 12.0 per cent.
Wednesday's Melbourne offering was dominated by good, average and inferior style lots which resulted in price reductions of up to 60 cents.
Buyers competed strongly for the best style lots on Thursday which saw small price rises for the 19 (+ 6c), 19.5 (+ 5c) and 20 m (+ 1c) MPGs.
The small offering of best style wools lost 20 to 30 cents on Wednesday.
Best style Merino skirtings with low VM lost up to 30 cents while lower style lots with high VM lost up to 60 cents.
Demand was stronger for low VM ( 3 per cent) skirtings on Thursday which gained up to 10 cents. Less stylish skirting lots with higher VM lost further ground.
Well prepared, stylish crossbred lots held their ground on Wednesday and gained 5 to 10 cents on Thursday.
A larger selection of poorly well-prepared lots lost up to 10 cents.
Oddment lots were 20 cents easier on Wednesday but firmed on Thursday.
The Southern Regional Indicator lost 59 cents to 1,751 c/kg clean and the Southern Merino Carding Indicator ended the week at 953 c/kg clean down 22 cents.
