The event saw 11 different choirs perform at the blue stone church, including the Merri Singers, the Tin Shed Singers, the Hamilton Singers and Cantori.

Each choir performed solo before a mass singing event lifted the roof.

"The festival was started by Eva Gaspar in the 1960s to give local choirs a chance to sing for each other, to sing communal songs in a large group, to swap ideas and enjoy afternoon tea together," Compere John MacInnes said.

"We have been organising this for a year and couldn't be happier with how it turned out."

Each choir had a performance bracket of 8-10 minutes and performed pieces from an array of genres.

The Millicent Choral Society graced the stage in dapper blue silks, and performed three beautiful traditional pieces, 'We Gather Here Together', 'This Day of Joyful Pleasure' and 'A Joyful Madrigal'.

The Apollo Bay Community Choir had audiences bopping along to their harmony-soaked rendition of 'Video Killed The Radio Star'.

Philip Shaw conducted the final mass performance and was blown away by how it went.

"It was amazing, it has been such a great event," he said.

"We encourage people to join a choir, music is so good for the soul."
