The second-placed Blues have a nervous wait on Aaron Searle who hurt his calf in the second quarter against Dennington.

Searle played no further part in the match as Nirranda surged to a 25.23 (173) to 6.1 (37) victory at Nirranda Recreation Reserve.

Co-coach Shane Threlfall said the Blues would wait and see how Searle goes this week.

The prolific goal-kicker has slotted 39 goals from nine matches this season at an average of more than four a match.

The Blues mentor said another injured sharp shooter Gary Robinson may return for the Warriors match.

But he said Robinson might be rested given the Blues have a fortnight off after the match.

Threlfall said his men were looking forward to playing the fourth-placed Warriors.

"We always have great clashes with Collegians," he said.

"They got us early in the year, overran us in the last quarter."

"We'll be emphasising the fact that we've got to have 100 per cent intensity for the full game.

"We've got to be on song for whole game."

The Warriors shocked the Blues in round one, coming from 21-points down at three-quarter time to steal victory.

Forward Jack Primmer, who was the Blues' second best with six goals, was a stand out in Searle's absence on Saturday.

Primmer, who has only played seven matches this season, has slotted 18 goals and been in the best players five times.

Threllfall said the Blues decided to play Primmer out of the goal square rather than higher up the ground against Dennington.

The winless Dogs will play Russells Creek on Saturday.
