Top jumps trainer Eric Musgrove praised the ride from Warrnambool-based jumps jockey Shane Jackson following Youl Dash For Cash's win over Joshua Reynolds and John's Revenge.
"I thought it was a very good ride by Shane in very trying conditions," Musgrove said.
"Youl Dash For Cash needed an experienced jockey in that sort of ground and Shane fitted the bill.
"Shane did a great job. Youl Dash For Cash had two jumps starts last season.
"He just was not seasoned last year.
"We gave him five flat runs and two hurdle trials to prepare him for this race.
"The Lafferty Hurdle would be a big lift in class but we could head down that path.
"The Lafferty is one of the options we'll have to consider for him."
Youl Dash For Cash took his stake earnings to more then $178,000 with the hurdle win.
Warrnambool trainer Simon Ryan was left perplexed with the effort of short priced odds-on favourite Super Haze who ran second behind Darabad in a restricted hurdle.
"Super Hazy appeared to be very disappointing," he said.
"He looked to have every chance and was just not good enough.
"But we'll see how he pulls up after the race."
The other jumping race on the Warrnambool Racing Club's 10-event program on Thursday was a maiden steeplechase which was won by the Patrick Payne-trained Sweet Lullaby.
