She and her daughter Bonnie have returned home with gold medals from the world titles of the I Compete Natural bodybuilding championships.

Ms Williamson won gold in the 'figure' 50-plus category, while her daughter won gold in the under 23 bikini model section.

The epic wins came just 18 months after Ms Williamson fell from a tree and broke eight bones.

She was setting up props to take a photo of Bonnie when the accident occurred.

Ms Williamson broke three ribs, fractured two vertebraes, broke her clavicle and cut her head.

She spent over a week in hospital after the accident.

Ms Williamson said it was this twist of fate the spurred her to return to bodybuilding.

"It was then I decided - I'm going to make a comeback," she said.

Ms Williamson said she was elated with their results.

She said she and her daughter had been training for at least one hour a day, plus about 40 minutes of cardio.

Ms Williamson said their diet was very strict under coach Kwame Jack Duah.

"Lots of fresh fish, veg, salad and chickpeas," she said.

Ms Williamson said she previously took a 13-year break from competing.

However, a win at the Melbourne competition this year gained her entry to the world championships.

"At this competition I received first, fourth and fifth-placing in figure divisions," Ms Williamson said.

"My family of three supported me again in the audience as they did 13 years before when I took out the International Natural Bodybuilding Association Queensland titles."

Ms Williamson said she loved competing and was very proud of her daughter's efforts, who also placed sixth in the open bikini model section at the world titles.
