The 26-year-old, who has held an assistant coaching role at the club for a number years, said the Seagulls' mentors had rubbed off on him.
"In the future (he would like to coach). Probably not senior coaching right now but I have been working with the defenders a fair bit," the backman said.
"Guys like (assistant coach) Winis (Imbi) coming on board this year have really helped out. Winis has been good at getting the most out of everyone.
"He is a good people person and a really good talker and Nico (senior coach Dan Nicholson)and I have learnt a lot off him and the group have really got around what he is about."
MORE FOOTBALL:
This weekend provides another strong test for the Seagulls' coaching panel with a critical match against Warrnambool at Reid Oval.
The Blues are coming off a shock defeat to North Warrnambool Eagles and have named an unchanged line up.
Sully, who works at the Dundonnell wind farm operating a stone crusher, said putting four quarters together would be critical to the Seagulls' hopes of winning.
"Warrnambool are a good side and I got to see the first half of them verse Koroit a few weeks ago and they were really impressive," he said.
"They worked well as a team and we just have to match that and them around the ground and we should go OK."
The key defender was eager to renew his rivalry with one in-form Warrnambool spearhead.
"'Boofa' (Darren) Ewing is obviously a good player and I have played a couple of times with him in the NEAFL (North East Australian Football League) and he is very dangerous all the time," he said.
"You've also got 'Moo' (Sam) Cowling and those sorts of guys so it's going to take a team effort so hopefully all the boys are on board."
