The 18-year-old broke his leg during the second quarter of the Cats' 23.17 (155) to 6.7 (43) Warrnambool and District league victory at home and was taken for surgery on Saturday night.
Alberts had booted 13 goals in six games for Allansford, behind only Robert Hare (16), but Cats coach Ben Price said he would be unable to run for at least 12 weeks.
"He's a half-forward who can also play through the midfield or on the wing and there's really no like-for-like replacement for him," Price said.
The Cats shot out to a 23-point lead at quarter-time before an eight-goal second quarter all but iced the game.
Consistency was what mentor Ben Price demanded from his charges and he got it as Allansford booted 35 points in both the third and final terms.
"It was a really good four-quarter effort from all the boys - just what we asked from them," he said.
Hare top-scored with four majors alongside veteran forward Brett Membrey.
"Brett is probably our oldest player and just competes all day," Price said.
"It's harsh to say we expect him to kick four every week, but we sort of do."
Price said key position player Stephen Kilpatrick was best on for his side.
"Stephen started at full back and didn't really have a match-up," he said.
"But within the first ten minutes we moved him forward and he was a fantastic target."
The win cemented Allansford's spot in the WDFNL's top four with a healthy percentage of 165.07 and a 4-2 record.
Price's outfit now sits on equal points with reigning premiers Nirranda.
But he said the Cats would need to back up their performance next week against the sixth-placed South Rovers.
"There's those three really dominant sides (Kolora-Noorat, Old Collegians and Nirranda)," he said.
"And then it's going to get really tight among those other top four to seven teams.
"So we need to be winning each week now."
