South Warrnambool captain Liam Youl (face) and Camperdown wingman Matt Field's (hamstring) selection chances in the Jonathan Brown-led Bottle Greens side hinge on the severity of their injuries.
Youl, who said he was "pretty sore" from his injury, was set to have x-rays on Monday night after he was copped a knock during the Roosters' 50-point victory over Cobden on Saturday.
The midfielder was an emergency for the 2017 Bottle Greens side, which defeated South East Football Netball League, and was not selected in the initial squad in 2018.
Camperdown co-coach Neville Swayn confirmed Field visited a physio on Monday to see if he had injured his hamstring in the 63-point loss to Port Fairy.
Port Fairy big man and past interleague representative Sandy Robinson will be unavailable for selection with his son's christening this weekend.
MORE FOOTBALL:
The Seagulls' ruckman said he would have missed a week of football if he was available after he broke his nose in the first quarter of the win over the Magpies on Saturday.
The remaining players in the initial squad train Tuesday and Thursday nights with Brown's final team to be announced after the latter session. Saturday's match starts at 1.30pm at Ballarat's Mars Stadium.
