WARRNAMBOOL trainer Aaron Purcell believes a win by Guizot at his home track last week, holds the six-year-old in good stead for a $125,000 race over 1600 metres at Caulfield on Saturday.

Guizot defeated Our Peaky Blinders and Last Week in a $60,000 event over 1700 metres at the Warrnambool May Carnival last week.
Purcell said the imported galloper, with Jordan Childs in the saddle, was not extended in his victory.
"The win was just like a track gallop for Guizot," Purcell said. "I thought he would be hard to beat at Warrnambool and I think the same on Saturday.
"It looks an ideal race for him at Caulfield. He won over 1700 metres last time but he's got a good record over 1600 metres.
"I don't think the drop back to 1600 metres will be a concern. Jordie rides him again.
"He's got an understanding of Guizot, which is a bonus, and when you throw in some give in the track I think we're going to be awfully hard to beat."
