The boom recruit has booted 28 majors at an average of seven across the first four rounds.
He slotted six in the Blues' 29-point win over reigning premier Koroit at Victoria Park on Saturday.
Saint Sam Dobson sits second on the goal-kicking tally - 11 behind Ewing.
The former NT Thunder spearhead has kicked bags of 11, eight, three and six in the Blues' undefeated start to the season.
Warrnambool coach Matt O'Brien said Ewing's presence extended beyond the scoreboard.
"It makes a big difference just having another target up forward," he said.
"It just allows our forwards to share the load a bit but one thing people don't notice is how hard Darren tackles.
"He's picked up a couple of goals each week from laying tackles or having the ball spill out and someone else crumb it."
Blues teammate Tim O'Keeffe, who plays in defence, said Ewing had made an immediate impact at Reid Oval.
"He's nice and quiet and brings a fair bit of experience and he's always dangerous so you have to watch him all game," he said.
Only two players have kicked 100-plus goals in a Hampden league season since the turn of the century - Rowan (2008, '12 and '14) and Port Fairy's Francis Matthews (2005).
