Creek jumped away from East Warrnambool in the final term at Reid Oval on Saturday to claim their first win of the Warrnambool and District league season.
But for Robertson she believes her side has been building momentum in recent weeks despite a six-goal defeat to Timboon Demons last weekend and a 22-point opening round loss to Merrivale.
"Our last two weeks we have only put in a half or three quarters of a game," she said.
"But I think today we take away that we can play quite strong netball and when we do it works quite well."
The second-year mentor said the new-look Kangaroos open-grade side is starting to find its feet together.
"We have quite a few new players to our team this year and a lot of them have not played netball together," she said.
"A couple have come from the same club but its just working out each other's weaknesses and strengths and how to work with each other.
"I think it';s starting to come together now and we didn't have much of a pre-season in terms of game play with each other but today was quite settled."
Robertson said it was also pleasing to bring on a emerging players Emily Ross and Jess Quinlivian to help settle her side.
The Creek mentor picked Rachel Hansen as her best player for the game, which was played in hot conditions.
"Her drives into the attacking end were quite beautiful and she did play a full game in centre. So hats off to her," she said
East Warrnambool recorded its second straight defeat after having the bye in round one.
