The community group, which has more than 100 members, received a $194,000 Pick My Project grant to rehabilitate the disused quarry at the site.
Committee member Geoff Rollinson said one of the features of the project was an amphitheatre that would be the perfect venue for a range of events.
"We've already had strong interest from major music event organisers," Mr Rollinson said.
Another feature of the site will be a rainforest gully walk.
The group recently hosted a Turning the Soil celebration to mark 10 years since the commencement of major works at the site.
Mr Rollinson said the event, which included a smoking ceremony led by elder Robbie Lowe, was a huge success.
"It was great - we had about 40 people attend the event," he said.
Mr Rollinson said once planning permits are obtained, the project is expected to take about 12 months to complete.
