Detective Senior Constable Richard Hughes, of the Warrnambool police crime investigation unit, said a search warrant was executed at a Dennington property at 7.40am on Friday.
He said a 27-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman from Dennington were arrested.
He said evidence found at the property linked the pair to a burglary at a Kirkstall home on March 29, including a nail gun believed to be used in the home invasion.
The offenders allegedly forced their way into the Scott Street property about midnight and threatened to kill a 67-year-old man and nail him to the floor.
It is alleged they stole the victim's mobile phone and iPad, made a demand for $1,000 cash, and threatened to harm the man if he called the police.
Detective Senior Constable Hughes said the nail gun was seized from the Dennington property, as well as six cannabis plants.
He said the pair were charged with 17 offences, including home invasion, armed robbery, aggravated burglary, recklessly causing injury, assault with a weapon and cultivate and possess cannabis.
The offenders were remanded in custody and will appear in Warrnambool Magistrates Court for a committal mention hearing on July 12.
Detective Senior Constable Hughes said he was "very very pleased with result".
"The 67-year-old victim was very traumatised as a result of the incident and is very relieved at their arrest and remand," he said.
Anyone with information should call Warrnambool police on 5560 1333 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
